Today’s OvertureCon panelist spotlight falls on Joseph Bielski, who joins our Sunday, May 19 panel all about the rigors of Touring.
Joseph Bielski has been working in music since 2006. Originally a graphic designer from Detroit, Joseph began his career in music as a guitar tech & assistant tour manager of the band Deadsy. That opportunity led to others, and from 2006 to 2009 Joseph worked his way up from a Production Assistant to Tour Manager, touring virtually non-stop with artists including Deftones, Incubus, Panic at the Disco, The Offspring, Cut Copy, and The Presets.
In 2009 Joseph left the rigors of the road to move into artist management, becoming the day-to-day manager of the band Incubus, working under the direction of longtime manager Steve Rennie. During his tenure, Joseph helped prep and oversee release of Brandon Boyd’s debut solo album, “The Wild Trapeze”, and the 6th major-label Incubus album “If Not Now, When?”, in addition to a South American tour and the ambitious Incubus HQ project.
Joseph currently manages the band HOTT MT, and works in the music dept. of ABC Television doing music supervision and overseeing the ABC Music Lounge website. Joseph dreams of being an A&R man, and occasionally shares his opinions on music & the industry on his blog, ViciousNeutral.net.
